Paul Arthur Espinosa was 30 when he was shot and killed outside his family home in unincorporated Citrus on December 14, 2016. He stepped outside around 10:58 p.m.; his mother heard sounds she thought were firecrackers, then Espinosa returned bleeding and said he had been shot. Paramedics arrived but he was pronounced dead at 11:10 p.m. in the 17800 block of Newburgh Street, a quiet residential area bordering Azusa.

No one witnessed the shooting, and investigators could not determine whether the shooter was on foot or in a vehicle. Espinosa was a single father of four who did not live with his children. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau has the case open and urged anyone with information to contact them or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers.

Did anyone in Citrus or the Azusa border area hear or see anything that night that could help investigators?
