Kevin Foley was 58 when he left his Portland, Maine home on the evening of June 21, 2007. His wife, Christine, later said he had gone antiquing; when he did not return the next morning she reported him missing. Around the time of that report, a public works employee in nearby Westbrook found Foley’s body in the back of Woodlawn Cemetery near his dark-colored Mercury Sable. An autopsy confirmed he died of gunshot wounds.
Foley was a decorated Vietnam veteran and a retired Verizon service technician with 27 years of perfect attendance. Friends and family described him as generous, devoted to his wife and three children, and without known enemies. Police have said they do not believe there was a struggle and that Foley may have driven to the cemetery voluntarily, but investigators also said they believe he was targeted rather than the victim of random violence. Despite an intensive investigation into his finances and family connections, no arrests or suspects have been publicly identified and the case has gone cold.
Did anyone in the area remember seeing Foley, his Mercury Sable, or anything unusual near Woodlawn Cemetery on the night of June 21?
