Caesar Plascencia, 37, was killed in a possible drive-by shooting outside his Castro Valley home on Wilson Avenue the evening of November 28, 2016. Deputies from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office arrived after reports of gunfire and found Plascencia with multiple gunshot wounds; a friend was performing CPR but Plascencia was pronounced dead at the scene after medics treated him. Gunfire also struck a parked car nearby.
At the time of the shooting Plascencia’s children, a 9-year-old daughter and a 12-year-old son, were inside the house and were not harmed. Detectives canvassed the neighborhood for witnesses and surveillance video while evidence technicians processed the scene, but no suspects have been identified and no motive has been determined. No arrests have been announced and the investigation remains open.
If anyone saw activity on Wilson Avenue that evening or has surveillance footage or other information, please share what is known with investigators.
