Maria Claudia Corales Cobral, 34, was found shot to death inside her Avenal, California, home on November 14, 2016, just before 6 a.m. Her boyfriend, Ignacio Nacho Contreras, was also shot at close range and found on the front porch. The couple had recently moved in together and were planning a wedding.

Maria’s 7-year-old son was in the home and witnessed the killings; he tried to intervene and later identified the alleged killer as his biological father, Frank Francisco Contreras, then 43. Francisco Contreras was last seen in Los Angeles and was described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 5 inches, 145 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and tattoos reading Francisco and Manuel plus tribal barbed wire on his right arm. He was believed to be armed and possibly driving a burgundy PT Cruiser or a charcoal beige Ford F150.

Authorities in Avenal, Kings County and the Los Angeles area were searching for Francisco Contreras, who was reported to have ties to Los Angeles, the Sun Valley area and Michoacán, Mexico. Did anyone in the community have contact with Maria, Ignacio or Francisco around November 2016?
