Hugo Martin Torres, 35, was shot and killed on the afternoon of August 8, 2016, in Gonzales Alley near East Gabilan Street in Salinas, California. A lifelong Salinas resident born June 28, 1981, he worked as a plumber in the building trades and is survived by daughters Monique and Kattleya Torres, son Ryder Hugo Torres, and his parents Evila and Javier Sanchez.

Salinas Police identified Hugo as one of several homicide victims in early August 2016. Investigators say details about the circumstances of his death remain limited; no arrests have been announced and no suspects have been publicly identified.
