Julio Munoz Gonzalez, 25, of Hanford, California, was shot to death on June 17, 2016, near Cameron Street and White Street at about 11 p.m. When officers arrived they found his body; the autopsy reported 14 to 15 gunshot wounds to the head, shoulders, arms and hands, including fatal wounds that caused brain damage and pierced his lungs, and gunpowder embedded in his back consistent with close-range fire.
Investigators said several personal items Gonzalez had been carrying earlier in the day — a wallet, cellphone, gold necklace, rosary and wristwatch — were missing from the scene, a fact prosecutors used to support robbery charges. Witnesses testified that Zachary Gonzalez was seen running from the area after shots were fired. Zachary Gonzalez was arrested and ultimately convicted of first-degree murder and robbery; the jury also found firearm-use enhancements, and he was sentenced to life without parole.
The verdict visibly affected the family in court. Does anyone have information about Julio’s last known movements or saw activity around Cameron and White streets that night?
