Shu Zhang, a 60-year-old woman from China, was shot and killed on April 13, 2016, in West Covina, California, while visiting her daughter’s family from Sichuan. Shu Zhang and her husband, Aiping Diao, were at home with their son-in-law, Caminero Wang, and three grandchildren. Neighbors reported hearing gunshots and children screaming; police arrived about 8:35 p.m. and found Zhang and Diao dead from gunshot wounds.

The three children, ages 3, 6, and 8, were discovered hiding in a bathroom and were unharmed. Caminero Wang was arrested at the scene and later charged with two counts of murder and a special circumstance allegation involving a handgun and multiple murders. Wang had prior legal problems, including a 2013 domestic violence arrest when 23 guns were confiscated and a subsequent conviction for possessing an assault weapon that resulted in probation.

What does anyone who knew the family or was in that neighborhood that night remember about the incident or Wang’s behavior leading up to it?
