I was thinking about the location of where Carlos was tragically killed. It's so unsettling to think about how this happened so close to his home, a place where he should have felt safe. Living in the 1200 block of Nogal Drive must be a constant reminder for his family and the whole neighborhood. I've read that some areas in Salinas have been dealing with an upswing in violence, but it really hits hard when someone local becomes a victim, especially someone as young as Carlos.
What strikes me as odd is that no motive has been found yet, and still no suspects or arrests. It makes me wonder if it was a case of mistaken identity or just random violence. Has anyone else heard of incidents around that area around the same time? It's just so tragic that his family, who likely came here for a better life from Mexico, has to endure this loss. If anyone has more insight into whether the community or police have been doing anything differently since, I'd really like to know.
I've been following Carlos Esteban Alfaro's case, and something about it just doesn't add up to me. It’s really tragic what happened to him. What strikes me is that Carlos was shot near his home with no apparent motive, and he wasn’t on the police's radar for anything shady either.
The fact that no arrests have been made so far is so unsettling. It’s been years now, and I can't imagine the turmoil his family is going through without answers or closure. The surge in violence in Salinas during that time makes me wonder if it could have been a case of mistaken identity or something even more random.
I've heard people mention the increase in gang activities in Salinas around that time, but Carlos's name never really came up in those contexts. Detective Schwener seems like he's doing his best, but what else can be done to crack this case? If anyone has information they’ve been holding back, now's the time to speak up. Carlos and his family deserve justice.
I still find it hard to believe there’s been no breakthrough in Carlos Alfaro’s murder case after all this time. I was reading about his tragedy and couldn't help but feel the weight the unknown details must have on his family. It’s tough to think that such a young life could be taken so senselessly while just walking by his home. Salinas has been grappling with violence for years; it makes you wonder if community outreach programs are enough or if something more needs to be done to curb this cycle.
What particularly struck me, though, was how even Detective Schwener doesn’t seem to have solid leads. It must be incredibly frustrating for them and the community to have a case stall like this. I truly hope anyone who knows something feels compelled to step forward. Carlos deserves justice, and his family deserves answers. Let’s keep them in our thoughts and keep pushing for developments. If anyone has insights or thoughts on what might help encourage people to come forward, it could be a step toward finally solving this.
