Brandon Gonzalez was 14 when he was found critically injured on a San Marcos sidewalk the night of November 20, 2015. Deputies responded to reports of gunfire at about 10:50 p.m. near De Leone and Hollencrest roads and discovered Gonzalez unconscious with traumatic injuries. He was taken to a local hospital but died there; the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the cause of death a gunshot wound to his upper torso and classified it a homicide.
Gonzalez had been only a few houses from his home when he was shot. Witnesses reported multiple gunshots and a bullet casing was recovered at the scene. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department has investigated the killing as a potential gang-related incident while not ruling out other motives. Despite public appeals and a reward for information, no arrests or suspects have been publicly identified and the case remains open.
If anyone knew Brandon or saw or heard anything that night, can you share information with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department?
