Arline Iribe, 20, and her 22-year-old brother Alexis Velarde were shot and killed in the driveway of a Mountain View home on November 8, 2015. Both siblings died at the scene after being shot; Velarde reportedly attempted to shield his sister from the gunfire.

Authorities identified 39-year-old family friend Felipe DeJesus Vega as the suspect. Vega became the subject of a five-day manhunt and was located in City Heights, San Diego after a high-speed chase that ended in a two-hour standoff. During that confrontation Vega threw a handgun from his car, refused to exit, was confronted by a SWAT team that used tear gas and other measures, and was shot by an officer before being taken to a hospital.

The motive was not immediately clear; family members said the siblings may have confronted Vega about his feelings for their cousin. Vega faced multiple charges including two counts of first-degree murder. Did anyone in Mountain View know Arline or Alexis and have information that could shed light on what led up to the shootings?
