I recently stumbled across the case of Daniel Becerra Chavez, and something that sticks with me is the sheer randomness of it all. I mean, here’s a young man simply walking down his street, and in an instant, his life is taken away. What’s even more unsettling is how a bystander, a pregnant woman just exercising, got caught up in this too. It paints such a grim picture of how unpredictable and perilous it can be out there sometimes. My thoughts go out to her for being caught in something so horrifying that evening. It’s wild to think how the shooter might've been on foot, which makes it feel so personal and up close, even if they didn’t know each other. There’s something chilling about the idea that someone could vanish after committing such a brazen act. As always, I sincerely hope more information comes to light for his family and the community. They deserve to know what happened and find some semblance of peace. If anyone has heard anything over time, hopefully they’ll find the courage to speak up. Cases like this one really hit home how desperately justice is needed and how far we still have to go in tackling gun violence.
