I've been following Jerry James Lucero's case and can't stop thinking about how much courage it took for him to step in during that robbery. He wasn't just another employee; he was a real-life hero trying to defend his coworker, Berenice Conde. It's heartbreaking that his act of bravery cost him his life. Does anyone know more about how the community response team has been supporting Berenice and others at the Subway? I can't imagine the trauma she's dealing with, having been right there when it all happened. It's so important that they get the help they need to heal from such a traumatic event. I'm hoping there are ongoing support groups or resources for everyone affected.
