Delhaun Jackson, 19, was fatally shot on the evening of April 18, 2016, in the 1200 block of East 17th Street in Long Beach, California. The shooting happened at about 8:43 p.m.; Jackson was one of four men struck. Three other victims were taken to local hospitals—two listed in stable condition and one in critical condition—while Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jackson was a young father to a one-year-old daughter. His death prompted a community vigil in the days afterward, where family and neighbors urged an end to the violence. Investigators had not identified any immediate suspects and asked the public for information that might assist the inquiry.
