Scott Anthony Sartain was 39 when he was last seen in Arlington, Texas, on September 6, 2007. At the time he was homeless, unemployed and known to travel out of state, which contributed to a long gap before concern — he was not reported missing until January 2008 after an associate told police Sartain might have been killed.
Investigators later concluded Sartain had likely been murdered. Witnesses said they saw him beaten and tied up in a room behind a garage on Ridgeway Street, and testified that after the assault the men dismembered his body and left it at an unknown location. Sartain’s vehicle was reportedly dismantled and the parts sold to a scrap metal business. Two men, Kelly Munn and Alejandro Orona, were convicted for his murder; Munn received a 99-year sentence and Orona a life sentence. His body has never been recovered and the case remains an unresolved missing person.
