Juan Carlos Perez, 34, was found dead on February 9, 2015, in Tehachapi, California. His body was discovered in the back of a pickup truck after a high-speed chase that began in California City and ended in a desert area near Tehachapi Willow Springs Road and Oak Creek Road. The coroner ruled his death was from multiple gunshot wounds; his body was in an advanced state of decomposition when recovered.

The driver of the truck, William Patterson, also 34, was apprehended at the scene and later convicted of reckless evasion of a peace officer and possession of a firearm. Patterson was not charged in Perez’s death. In 2018 partial human remains found at an abandoned Rosamond property were identified as belonging to Perez. The motive for the homicide has not been disclosed and the investigation remains open.

Does anyone have information about Perez’s movements or contacts in the California City–Tehachapi area around February 2015?
