Richard Williamson was 48 and working as a security guard at the Cal Skate roller rink in Grand Terrace, California, when he was fatally shot shortly before 2 a.m. on January 1, 2015. Known as Big Will, he was trying to protect attendees during a violent altercation in the parking lot when he was struck and later died at a nearby hospital. The community remembered him for his dedication and willingness to help others.

The investigation led to five arrests: Maurice Lamont Martin Jr., 17, Ezekiel Isaiah George, 18, Laquan Trice, 15, Prince Topaz Johnson, 20, and Adrian Gentry, 17. The suspects were charged with murder, attempted murder, and shooting at an inhabited dwelling; the San Bernardino County District Attorney filed charges against Trice, Gentry, and Martin as adults. Arraignments took place in San Bernardino Superior Court following review of witness statements and surveillance footage.

Does anyone have memories of Williamson or information about the shooting that could help clarify what happened?
