On October 10, 2014, Ramon Randon, 34, a Watsonville resident who worked at a nearby motel, was fatally shot in a gang-related attack near the Fish House Bar and Grill and the Valley Inn Motel on Main Street. The shooting happened late at night and investigators say Randon was the intended target.

A 4-year-old girl, Jaelyn Marie Zavala, was also killed in the crossfire while resting in the back office of the restaurant her grandparents owned. Emanuel Hernandez, 26, was wounded and survived. Police identified Michael Escobar as the primary suspect; he and another man attempted to flee but were taken into custody soon after the shooting. The incident prompted vigils and community calls for an end to gang violence.

What information can anyone share about Randon’s movements that night or about witnesses who were near Main Street that late on October 10, 2014?
