Justin Triplett, a 24-year-old aspiring rapper from Temecula, California, was shot to death on the morning of September 22, 2014. Residents of the Portafino Apartments on Rancho California Road reported hearing gunfire; officers from the Temecula Police Department found Justin lying in his doorway with multiple gunshot wounds and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Known to friends as Trip, he was remembered for his musical talents and local ties.
Investigators from the Central Homicide Unit and the U.S. Marshal’s Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force pursued leads. On October 3, 2014, the Riverside County Sheriff’s SWAT Team and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s SWAT Team executed search warrants at two residences. Those actions resulted in the arrest of 22-year-old Eligha Everett of Temecula, charged with homicide, and 22-year-old Leah Nolan of Temecula, arrested for aiding and harboring a criminal. Bail was reported at $1 million for Everett and $500,000 for Nolan.
Friends said Justin had recently been associating with a questionable crowd. The community organized fundraisers to help pay for his funeral. Does anyone have information about Justin’s last days or the people he was spending time with?
