Eduardo Tienda, 25, of Parlier, California, was killed on September 18, 2014, during a violent incident at a marijuana grow operation in the Cutler-Orosi area. Deputies responding to reports of shots fired at a property on Avenue 400 found Tienda deceased from gunshot wounds after what investigators described as a shootout during an attempted robbery. An AK-47 assault rifle was recovered at the scene and the autopsy confirmed the cause of death as injuries from the shootout.
Authorities say Tienda was part of a group that included his brother Jose Luis Tienda, 34, and a 16-year-old; the three allegedly attempted to rob the grow operation, and a confrontation produced exchanged gunfire. Jose Luis Tienda was arrested and charged in connection with the attempted robbery and his brother’s death; the 16-year-old was treated for a leg wound and detained.
What additional details about the scene or sequence of events might help clarify how the confrontation escalated?
