Sotai Jamin Jackson, 38, was shot and killed in Willowbrook on June 12, 2014. The shooting happened about 10:53 p.m. in the 700 block of East 137th Street while Jackson sat in a dark-colored SUV with a 66-year-old man. Two vehicles — a white Ford compact and a dark green compact — pulled up, four people exited, and the occupants opened fire. Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:06 p.m.; the 66-year-old man was taken to a hospital and was expected to survive.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department opened a homicide investigation.
