Dean Vedol Sena, a 45-year-old security guard, was shot and killed during an armed robbery at The Brothers Liquor in Rancho Cucamonga, California, on February 22, 2014. The gunman entered the store about 11:20 p.m., demanded cash and shot Sena multiple times as he exited; Sena was taken to San Antonio Community Hospital in Upland and pronounced dead.
Detectives arrested 36-year-old Diego Dominguez the next day after serving warrants on his vehicles and residence. Dominguez was booked on charges of robbery and murder and held without bail. One clerk escaped during the incident and alerted Sena, who was patrolling the area but did not have the opportunity to draw his weapon before being shot.
Sena was survived by his wife and two children; his widow urged forgiveness and spiritual reflection. The community remembered him as dedicated and kind. Does anyone have information about Sena’s final shift, the robbery, or contacts who knew him and his family?
