John Vallejos, 51, was one of three people killed on October 5, 2011, during a workplace shooting at the Lehigh Southwest Cement Permanente Plant in Cupertino, California. The attack occurred during an early morning meeting about safety, when a plant employee, Shareef Allman, opened fire with a .223-caliber semi-automatic rifle and a .40-caliber handgun. Manuel Pinon and Mark Munoz were also killed; several others were wounded.
After the shooting Allman fled, attempted to carjack a woman, and was later located in Sunnyvale during a multiagency search that included the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office, Sunnyvale Police, and SWAT teams. Deputies shot and killed Allman after finding him hiding behind a car and he raised a handgun at officers. No other suspects have been identified.
If anyone knew John Vallejos or was at the plant that morning and can add details about him or what happened, please share information.
