I came across some information recently about Officer Jeremy Henwood that I think deserves more attention in these discussions. What really stood out to me was how he spent his last moments just before the tragedy occurred. Just minutes before the shooting, Officer Henwood was at a fast-food restaurant where he bought cookies for a young boy. This small act of kindness has been mentioned repeatedly by people who knew him or witnessed it. It's clear that Henwood was the kind of person who would go out of his way to make someone's day a little brighter. It's these moments that show the true character of a person. I feel for the community that lost not only an officer but a genuinely good person. It's a reminder of how we should cherish the positive impacts we can make, however small, in each other’s lives. Sending strength to his loved ones and fellow officers who still remember him fondly for who he was.
