Angel Caldera Sr. was 34 and lived in West Puente Valley, California, when he was shot and killed on January 26, 2010. He was standing on a street corner on Fairgrove Avenue, west of Evanwood Avenue, at about 3:44 p.m. when a car drove by and at least one person inside opened fire. Caldera was struck multiple times in the torso and legs, taken to a hospital, and pronounced dead at 5:43 p.m.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department described the incident as a drive-by shooting; investigators did not immediately identify a motive or the shooters. There were no immediate arrests and the case remained open, with law enforcement periodically revisiting leads over the years but no public identification or arrest of a suspect. Friends and family expressed grief and called for justice.

If anyone knew Angel, saw activity near Fairgrove and Evanwood that afternoon, or has information that could help investigators, please come forward.
