On December 5, 2009, Veronica Gallegos, a 31-year-old Hispanic woman from Greenfield, California, was found fatally shot in a motel room alongside 30-year-old Hispanic woman Yliza Marie Martinez. Both deaths were investigated as gang-related homicides. Yliza Marie Martinez was critically injured and taken off life support on December 11, 2009; her kidneys were donated to her aunt.

Veronica was born December 11, 1977, in Salinas and had been a long-time Greenfield resident. She was survived by her husband, Salvador Gallegos, and their children Desiree Del Campo, Alexander Gallegos, Jesse Eliazar Gallegos, and Moises Gallegos. The investigation led to the arrest and murder charges against a 15-year-old suspect, a development that drew attention because of the suspect’s age and the violence of the crime.

Does anyone have information about Veronica, Yliza, or the events surrounding the motel shooting that could help clarify what happened?
