Hey everyone, I’ve been reading through the details of the Covina massacre and I just can’t wrap my head around how anyone could do something so heinous, especially during a time meant for family and celebration. One aspect that's really stuck with me is the sheer terror and confusion that must have gripped those guests when Pardo, dressed as Santa, started his rampage. I can’t stop thinking about how Christmas Eve must have meant the world to Joe Ortega and his family. Hosting an annual party like that, it shows how much love and warmth there was in that home. To have such joy snatched away so violently is just beyond comprehension. Those poor children and other guests who had to witness it all... it's unimaginable. We've discussed a lot about Pardo's motives and plans, but I keep coming back to the bravery of that little girl who answered the door, and the survival and strength of those who managed to escape. This tragedy just underscores the importance of reaching out to our communities and ensuring there’s support for those suffering in silence. My thoughts continue to stay with all those affected by this senseless tragedy, and I hope we can all learn from it to prevent anything like this from happening again.

I can't stop thinking about the brave 8-year-old girl who was the first victim of this terrible attack. Opening the door and experiencing such an unimaginable horror at what should have been a joyful event is just beyond words. It's hard to comprehend how anyone could harm a child like that. Her recovery, both physically and emotionally, must be such a long journey. It makes me hope that the remaining family and community have wrapped her in so much love and support. Anyone hearing her story would be inspired by the strength she has shown in surviving that night. It's crucial to remember those who lived through this, as their stories remind us of the long-lasting effects of such senseless violence. Let's keep them and the memory of Joseph and the other victims in our thoughts as we continue seeking justice and understanding.
