Kenneth Kenny Sosa, 27, was shot to death on November 27, 2006, in broad daylight while sitting in his car on North N Street in Lompoc, California, about a block south of Lompoc High School. He was struck multiple times; investigators determined the shooting was not random and that Sosa had been specifically targeted. At the time he had prior contacts with law enforcement, including a conviction for receiving stolen property and a 2006 arrest on suspicion of threatening to kill a man in Lompoc.
A 14-month Lompoc Police Department investigation led to arrests in February 2008. Authorities charged Joe Rodriguez Gastelum Jr., 34, and Kristopher Michael Blehm, 23, with homicide, and charged Scott Allen Kuster, 36, and Christina Rodriguez Gastelum, 35, as accessories after the fact. Trial testimony said Joe Gastelum was the shooter, Blehm provided the gun and was in the car, and the motive tied to a personal dispute involving Joe Gastelum’s wife, Lisa Gastelum, who had been involved with Sosa while Joe was incarcerated. Lisa Gastelum and her 12-year-old son witnessed the shooting and later testified at trial.
Does anyone have additional information about Sosa’s last movements on November 27, 2006, or the people who were with him that day?
