It's been over two decades since David Vega Quincoza was taken from us, yet the pain remains for those who knew him. I wanted to talk about the lasting impact on the East LA community and how moments like this pull us together, even when answers are hard to find. The spot on 1130 S. Duncan Ave feels like it carries a part of David's spirit—it's more than just an address now; people pass by with a silent nod, understanding its significance. I've seen community members and activists use David's story as a catalyst for change, pushing harder than ever against the backdrop of gun violence. It's frustrating knowing the investigation hasn't given us the closure we all long for, but it’s important to remember that his loved ones are still searching for answers. It's up to us to keep discussions alive and support efforts to create safer spaces. Every vigil, every story shared, adds strength to the community he was a part of. Let's continue honoring David by holding onto hope and supporting positive changes, ensuring that his life fuels action and remembrance. If you're from the area or have thoughts on community safety or how to help, it would be great to hear from you. How has David's story impacted you?
