I've been following the Hilario Avila case for a while and something that stands out to me is the courage of the witnesses who testified. It must have been incredibly challenging to relive such a traumatic night, especially after so many years had passed. Their testimonies were crucial in ensuring that Rios-Soto faced justice, and I'm genuinely impressed by their bravery and commitment to the truth. It's heart-wrenching to think of the burden they've carried all these years, and I hope they feel some sense of relief now that this chapter has concluded. My thoughts are with them and Avila's family during this difficult time.

Does anyone have more info on the kind of relationship Hilario and Fidel had before that night? It's baffling to think how quickly things can escalate to such a tragic outcome. Were there any signs of tension between them earlier on, or was this completely unexpected? I can't imagine the shock and pain Hilario's family must have felt, first losing him under such violent circumstances, and then enduring years of uncertainty while Fidel was on the run. It's a relief to know justice was finally served, but the emotional toll on everyone involved is unimaginable. If anyone has insights into how Fidel managed to stay under the radar for so long in Mexico, that would be interesting too.
