Eva Petersen, 72, was murdered on April 23, 1991, in Burlingame, California. She lived with her daughter, Carol Spadoni; both women were killed that day by Phillip Carl Jablonski. The scene was discovered a few days later after a concerned friend contacted police.
Investigators reportedly found a tape in Jablonski’s car in which he described the killings and the assault on Petersen. Jablonski’s trial included evidence of a long history of violent assaults and rapes, and the jury found him legally sane and recommended the death penalty. The case raised questions about his release on parole prior to the 1991 killings.
Anyone who knew Eva Petersen or Carol Spadoni, or who has information about their lives in Burlingame before April 23, 1991, is asked to come forward.
