On September 15, 1984, Mickie Lee King was found dead in the kitchen of a house on Ronda Street in San Jose, in the Cambrian Park area. Deputies responding to a report of gunshots discovered King with a gunshot wound to the back of the head and his hands handcuffed behind his back, consistent with an execution-style killing. Two other men were shot at the scene: homeowner and King’s half-brother John Evans was found in the front entryway with a fatal gunshot wound to the head, and Michael Osorio was shot in the hallway and survived.

Investigators treated the killings as drug-related after learning Evans was a reputed methamphetamine dealer. The crime scene yielded bloodstained gloves, shell casings, and a bloody handprint; a police dog tracked scent from the house to a nearby pond and helped uncover additional evidence. The case became one of the county’s longest, most costly murder probes.

Glen Buddy Nickerson, Murray Lodge Jr., Dennis Hamilton, and Bret Wofford were charged in connection with the killings. Nickerson and Hamilton were tried together in 1987, convicted of two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder, and sentenced to life without parole; Wofford pleaded guilty to being an accessory and Lodge was tried separately.

Does anyone have information about King, Evans, Osorio, or the events around Ronda Street in September 1984?
