I can't stop thinking about the families who went to that McDonald's just like any other day. I recently found out that Jose Ruben Lozano-Perez was among the victims, and it really hit home since he was so young—just 19. It's so tragic to think about how he had his whole life ahead of him and how unfair it is for his family to have lost him in such a brutal way. I wonder about the lasting impact on his loved ones, friends, and how they cope with such a sudden loss. Losing someone so unexpectedly in such a horrendous act must leave a deep wound. Sending strength to all those touched by this tragedy, even all these years later. It’s important we keep talking about these events to ensure we work towards preventing them in the future.
