Roy Alexander Radin, a 33-year-old vaudeville promoter, was found dead on June 10, 1983, in a creek bed in Gorman, California. He had been missing since May 13, 1983, and an autopsy showed he had been shot in the head.
Radin’s murder became tied to the financing of the film The Cotton Club. At the time he disappeared he was negotiating with producer Robert Evans and associate Karen Greenberger, also known as Elaine Jacobs.
The investigation reportedly stalled until Radin’s mother, Renee Radin Dorr, pushed for the case to be reopened five years later. That renewed probe led to arrests and convictions of Greenberger and three accomplices in what was widely called the Cotton Club Murder case. Some allegations about Radin’s personal life and alleged criminal ties are mentioned but described as largely unsubstantiated.
Does anyone have information about Radin’s movements between May 13 and June 10, 1983, or knew him professionally during the Cotton Club negotiations?
