Minnie Ola White, 51, was shot to death and her body discovered on March 21, 1981, stuffed in the trunk of a leased car abandoned near Blythe, California. The killing was the final slaying in a multi-state crime spree that began March 18 and included murders in Missouri and California and the disappearance of a man from Kansas City.

Kelvin Shelby Malone has been identified as the primary perpetrator in the spree; Michael Crenshaw was implicated as an accomplice. Investigators recovered a .25-caliber Raven automatic pistol thrown from the suspects’ car during a high-speed chase that ended with both men arrested on March 24, 1981, in San Jose. Credit cards belonging to Minnie Ola White and another victim were found in the vehicle.

Malone received a death sentence for his role in the murders and Crenshaw received a life term after cooperating. Does anyone have information about Minnie Ola White’s life or connections in Blythe or the surrounding area that could shed light on her final days?
