I just recently stumbled upon the tragic case of Michael Naker and John Mayeski while revisiting some historical true crime stories from the '70s, and it's just been weighing on my mind, especially the part about how their car was the target in this senseless crime. It’s devastating to think about how two young lives were taken over something so trivial. I can’t help but think about their families and friends who had to endure not only the loss of these bright young lives but also the drawn-out legal proceedings and appeals that continued for years afterward. The ordeal must have been incredibly draining for everyone involved. I read about the Pulley v. Harris case, and you have to wonder how they kept going, knowing they'd have to relive the details of their loved ones' deaths repeatedly through each legal battle. I can’t imagine how Michael and John’s families managed to cope with such a long wait for justice. Though Harris was eventually executed, I hope the verdict provided some measure of peace, but it’s clear that such losses leave lasting scars. Has anyone else followed the legal proceedings in this case? Would love to discuss this further if you have more insights or thoughts.
