Has anyone ever delved into the background of Sigurd Beiermann? It just struck me how his story, and those of the other victims, often get overshadowed by the sheer notoriety of Juan Corona. I can’t stop thinking about Beiermann and the life he lived before that tragic day in May 1971. Being a vagrant farm worker, he likely faced numerous challenges, juggling the instability of his profession while possibly hoping for something better. It breaks my heart thinking about how isolated and vulnerable his lifestyle might have made him. The trust he placed in Corona, possibly seeing the promise of work as a lifeline, only to meet such a grim fate – it’s so important to remember the person, not just the victim.
