Jose Reyes, 25, of Belle Glade, Florida, was found dead on a canal bank along Corkscrew Boulevard near Clewiston on December 4, 2022. His body showed multiple gunshot wounds, and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office classified the death as a homicide and opened an investigation.

Reyes had been at a birthday party near his home on the night of December 3, 2022. His sister, Reyna Martinez, said Reyes was the primary caretaker of their household and that both siblings had been eyewitnesses to a separate shooting the previous year. Martinez believes Reyes may have been targeted because of that earlier case, and detectives are considering whether his murder was intended to eliminate a witness.

No arrests have been announced and the shooter’s identity is unknown. If anyone has information about the killing of Jose Reyes, please contact the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
