Roderick Wilson, 35, of Orange Park, Florida, was fatally shot at a Chevron gas station on May 28, 2022. Witnesses reported an argument that escalated into a physical confrontation; according to accounts, one person lunged at another and the latter fired shots, and the Orange Park Police Department is investigating the incident as a possible act of self-defense.
Wilson’s family, especially his father, disputes the self-defense narrative, saying Roderick was not confrontational and typically avoided trouble. The Orange Park Police Department and the State Attorney’s Office have been examining the scene, interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence. No arrests or charges have been announced and the investigation remains open.
What did anyone see at the Chevron that afternoon who can shed light on how the argument began and what actually happened during the confrontation?
