I've been following the deeply saddening case of Jamey "JuJu" Bennett Jr.'s untimely death. What struck me most is the bravery shown by the Barnes family. It couldn't have been easy for Da'Mari's parents to come forward and convince him to surrender. They did the right thing by cooperating with law enforcement, not just for their son, but for Jamey's family, who are undoubtedly suffering from this loss. Sheriff Staly's comments about the challenges with the juvenile justice system are important. It's a contentious issue, but I can understand why there would be a push to try Barnes as an adult. At the end of the day, both families are forever changed by this event. It's truly a difficult situation for everyone involved. My heart goes out to Jamey's family and friends who are left to navigate this tragedy.
