Noah Smith was 16 and a student at Flagler Palm Coast High School when he was killed on January 12, 2022, in Bunnell, Florida. He was an innocent bystander in a shooting on South Anderson Street and was not the intended target; the shooting was tied to a broader conflict involving local gangs, and Noah had no gang involvement.

Investigators arrested three suspects and charged them with first-degree murder: Tyrese Patterson, 20, Stephen Monroe, 23, and Devandre Williams, 18. A fourth person, Terrell Sampson, 18, had a warrant for attempted second-degree murder in connection with the incident and remained at large. Patterson later pleaded no contest to a reduced charge of second-degree murder. Williams was also charged with second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder with a firearm in a separate May 2022 killing of another teenager, Keymari Hall.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said investigators tracked social media interactions while piecing together the suspects’ involvement. If anyone has information about Noah, the events that evening, or Terrell Sampson’s whereabouts, please come forward.
