Aaron Christopher Broyles, 28, was shot to death at his family home on Deer Run Road in the Spring Lake Estates community of Callahan, Florida, on December 1, 2021. He was found in his bedroom after being shot multiple times.

According to the Sheriff, Aaron’s father, William Conway Broyles, 57, broke down the bedroom door and shot him, then left the house to retrieve another gun and returned to shoot him again. Aaron’s mother, Candace Lynn Broyles, and sister, Cara Lynn Broyles, were also shot multiple times in different parts of the house and died. William Broyles was arrested at the scene after calling 911 and was found lying unarmed in the driveway; he confessed to shooting each family member.

William Broyles was charged with three counts of second-degree murder; a grand jury later indicted on first-degree murder counts and the state announced it would seek the death penalty. He has pleaded not guilty and is being held without bond. The motive remains unclear; the family reportedly had no prior history of domestic or anger issues.
