De’Joshua J. Johnson, 31, died after being shot at a block party in Pahokee, Florida, on November 6, 2021. The celebration followed the annual Muck Bowl between Pahokee High School and Glades Central High School. Deputies were trying to disperse a large crowd when gunfire erupted; witnesses said shots came from a passing vehicle. Johnson and two others were struck. The other two victims survived, while Johnson died of his wounds on November 10, 2021.
A former four-star recruit who signed with Florida State University in 2010 but later played at junior colleges and New Mexico Highlands University, Johnson was a prominent local athlete. His family first asked that his name be withheld under a state victims privacy provision, then rescinded that request to help the probe. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office has released video of the shooting and is offering a $3,000 reward for information; no arrests or suspects have been announced.
Did anyone at the Muck Bowl celebration or with knowledge of vehicles in the area on November 6, 2021, see anything that could help investigators?
