Jerome Asemota, 29, was found dead inside a car on September 21, 2021, along the 3100 block of University Boulevard near Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. He had been shot and his death was classified as a homicide; local authorities described the circumstances as suspicious and opened a criminal investigation.
The investigation resulted in the arrest of two men, Bakari Ball and El Saddig Amir Nurein, both 22 at the time, who were charged by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office with first-degree felony murder. Ball was already in custody in Seminole County on a probation violation when the murder charge was filed; Nurein was arrested shortly after the incident. Authorities have not disclosed a motive or said whether Asemota knew the suspects.
Many details remain unclear, including what led to the shooting and the relationship, if any, between Asemota and the accused. Did anyone in the community see or hear anything around University Boulevard on September 21, 2021?
