I recently came across Joana Peca’s case again and felt a mix of emotions thinking about her two young children. It's unbelievable how much these kids have been through. Imagine having your mother taken away right before you and being left to try and understand such a horrific event at such a tender age. My heart truly goes out to them as they navigate life without her, especially knowing they carry the memory of that day. It’s noteworthy how the community and even a TikTok video played a pivotal role in eventually catching Williams. This just shows how strangers, often miles apart, can come together to bring about justice, even if it takes years. I hope Joana’s family finds some peace knowing Williams is finally off the streets, and I wish all the best for Joana's children as they grow up surrounded by love and support from their grandmother and family.
