Isaiah Alexander Nelson was 17 and from Wildwood, Florida when he was found shot to death on May 12, 2021. Isaiah and 16-year-old Prestin Wayne Nixon were discovered on a rural roadside by a truck driver; both had gunshot wounds. The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office said the killings did not appear random and indicated the victims likely knew their assailant.

The community was deeply affected; grief counselors were made available to Isaiah’s former classmates. Isaiah’s father, Trent Nelson, created a GoFundMe to raise a reward and help cover unexpected expenses, noting Isaiah enjoyed video games and time with friends. A 15-year-old was arrested and charged in connection with the shootings; the suspect’s name has not been released because of his age.

If anyone knew Isaiah or Prestin, or has information about what happened on County Road 219 that night, please come forward.
