Bradley James Garl Pease, 32, of Dunnellon, Florida, died of a gunshot wound to the chest at his southwest Marion County residence on September 19, 2020. He was taken to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The shooting occurred at 4725 SW 166th Court during an altercation that began over a bicycle in Bradley’s yard.
Omar Parrera was identified as the person who shot Bradley. Witnesses said Bradley pointed a gun at Parrera and that Parrera then shot him in self-defense. Prosecutors found multiple inconsistencies in testimony by Bradley’s fiancée Kelly Watts, Samantha Gugino, and Jeremy Mitch; those three were later charged with tampering with evidence. Watts was also charged with possession of a firearm or ammunition by a felon, and Parrera faced a charge for possession of a short-barreled rifle.
Assistant State Attorney Rich Buxman declined to charge Parrera with Bradley’s death, concluding the available evidence did not disprove Parrera’s claim of self-defense beyond a reasonable doubt; improperly posted no trespassing signs on the property were also noted. Does anyone have information about the events that night or knew Bradley and can help clarify what happened?
