Estevan Rodriguez, 43, was killed on June 8, 2020, in his South Bay, Florida home after ending a relationship with Roykeria Wiley. His roommate found him on the living room floor with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and the front door ajar. Investigators found spent casings in the living room, clumps of hair in Rodriguez’s hand and defensive wounds on his arms indicating a struggle, but the murder weapon was not recovered.
Surveillance footage and geolocation data showed Wiley and Alex Brinkley fleeing the scene shortly after the shooting. Both were charged with first-degree murder; later court filings show they accepted plea deals. Wiley pleaded guilty to manslaughter and burglary and received a five-year sentence after cooperating with prosecutors. Brinkley pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to 15 years; a judge denied his request for a short period of house arrest before sentencing despite a letter of support from his rehabilitation program therapist.
Who knew Estevan or saw activity at that South Bay address around June 8, 2020?
