Christopher David Landers, 36, of Vernon, Florida, died after being shot in the chest on April 29, 2020. Deputies responded to Lazy Bone Drive for a man with a gunshot wound; they provided first aid and he was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office described the shooting as domestic-related. Brandy Landers, identified as Christopher’s wife, admitted to shooting him. Investigators collected evidence and interviewed family members and neighbors to establish the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
