Courtney Fobbs, a 32-year-old Black man and bail bondsman, was killed on April 10, 2020, in Riviera Beach, Florida. He was stepping out of his car on the 1000 block of West 26th Street shortly after 5 p.m. when he was struck by a bullet fired during a nearby gunfight and died at the scene. Police reports say 35 rounds were fired from at least three different guns during the incident. A 25-year-old acquaintance of Fobbs was wounded in the same volley of gunfire and survived.

Investigators have not disclosed a motive or confirmed whether Fobbs was the intended target. No arrests have been announced in connection with the shooting that killed him; a 24-year-old was arrested relating to a shooting the following day, which investigators said shed light on the weapons used in the April 10 incident. Family and friends remembered Fobbs as a dedicated professional who worked unusual hours to help people through his bail bonds work. Is there anyone who knew Courtney or witnessed that afternoon’s shooting who can provide information to investigators?
