Javaris Keon Miller, 23, of Lehigh Acres, was fatally shot on Interstate 75 in North Port, Florida, on March 7, 2020. The shooting happened in the early morning around 3:45 AM while Miller was driving a white four-door 2019 Cadillac XTS between Sumter Boulevard and Toledo Blade Boulevard; a large portion of the interstate was closed during the investigation.

Police believe Miller was specifically targeted, describing the attack as an isolated incident rather than a random act. The North Port Police Department has asked anyone who saw Miller’s vehicle or who heard gunshots in that area around the time of the shooting to contact investigators.
